About Pastor Gary Waters

With all wisdom and insight he has made know to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, as a plan for the fullness of time, to gather up all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.              Ephesians 1:8b-10 NRSV

If asked, I would offer this as my life verse. We, as Christians, have learned of God's will and continually learn more about God's will. We apply that knowledge by acting on it in our world and in doing so we reach the world for Christ “ "all things are gathered in him¦ That gathering happens by the direct power of the Spirit of God and also by the work of faithful disciples “ workers in the harvest of God's grace that was sown in the world with the word of God.

I have lived my life in the United Methodist Church and in the grace of God. Grace is the key motivation for my ministry.  All that we receive from God, all of the promises of salvation and faith come to us by the grace of God.  I am thankful that my life and all of my hopes and dreams are in the hands of Jesus Christ.

My personal mission statement is simple. It was greatly influenced by a former pastor and retired bishop, the Rev. Dick Wills. The purpose of my life with God is threefold: 1) to introduce people to the grace of God in Jesus Christ, 2) to lead people to a life of faithful discipleship and 3) to relieve suffering.

My hope and dream for my ministry with everyone I meet who has an interest in the movement of God's reign in the world is that we will become partners in doing the essential work of God in Creation.

In the peace of Christ,

Rev. Gary Waters
Senior Pastor
